South Side Innovation Center searching for new director

Monica Hughley, director of our member the South Side Innovation Center, has resigned due to the relocation of her husband's job, leaving a vacancy that Syracuse University is now searching to fill (please see attached pdf of the job announcement). The South Side Innovation Center is one of a series of initiatives serving the city's South Side sponsored by the Entrepreneurship and Emerging Enterprise Program and the Falcone Center for Entrepreneurship at SU's Whitman School of Management.

During her tenure, Monica added additional space and capacity at the South Side Innovation Center. She and her family are returning to her native Indiana, where she will be based in Fort Wayne. We wish her well! If you are interested in the directorship, please view the attached job announcement, with a link to SU's online jobs portal.

SSIC-Monica Hughley's Contributions

Monica's contribution was more than just adding space and capacity to the facility. She brought new ventures to the facility and turned a failing facility around to a vibrant and new venture. She also brought in new programing that had never been introduced to the incubator. She reached out to other schools within the University and as a partner with Dave Dishave, Director of Graduate Admissions to the I-School, they created a business match-making partnership with Information Management graduate students and the entrepreneurs. The program was highly successful and hopefully will continue on. She also was a key component to the development of the COMTEK Test kitchen and taking it from a space into a viable program that assisted food entrepreneurs. Her contribution to the SSIC and the SSECP project went above and beyond measure and her absence will be greatly missed.
