The media site The Epoch Times profiled our member the Brooklyn Fashion + Design Accelerator, including multiple photos of incubator tenants and descriptions of their businesses. According to the story, BF+DA to date has graduated four companies, increased revenues of its residents by $800,000, and hosted events connecting 7,000 people in the "ethical fashion and design" sectors. BF+DA is a program of the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, based off-campus in the former Pfizer manufacturing complex.

The Knotel, a serviced office focused on growing companies and teams of entrepreneurs, has joined BIA/NYS as our newest member. Founded as an outgrowth of the teamwork platform Knotable, The Knotel's 25,000 square-foot site is located on W. 17th St. in Manhattan, with additional locations planned in the Financial District, NoHo, Long Island City, and beyond.
The founders of Knotel are Edward Shenderovich of Kite Ventures and Amol Sarva, a successful serial entreprneeur who founded Virgin Mobile USA and created the Peek smartphone. Knotel is the first commercial startup space of its kind to join our association, and we warmly welcome them to membership.

Our member The Griffiss Institute has rolled out a Job Board that will list local hiring opportunities offered by startups graduating from the Commercialization Academy that the incubtor runs in partnership with the Air Force Research Lab Information Directorate in Rome and Wasabi Ventures, a national firm. The first jobs listed are with VidFall, a shopping site that won a $25,000 judges' prize at the Commercialization Academy's Demo Day.
