Griffiss Institute incubator program joins BIA/NYS
Submitted by admin on Mon, 2007-08-06 20:42.Griffiss Institute, a research and training collaborative in "information assurance" based in Rome, has joined BIA/NYS as it anticipates opening a second, 23,000 square-foot building dedicated in large part to business incubation.
The GI incubator program will be our first member in the Mohawk Valley, and BIA/NYS will now have a member incubator in every one of the state's 10 economic regions as recognized by Empire State Development.
GI was created in 2002 to help anchor Griffiss Research and Technology Park, the redevelopment of the former Griffiss Air Force Base, realigned in the 1993 BRAC round. GI levers the Rome Research Site, where the Air Force Research Laboratory still headquarters its Information Directorate among other programs in the Sensors Directorate.
An informational PowerPoint presentation on GI is attached at the link below. Please warmly welcome the GI incubator program to membership!
