More than a hundred business people, community members, and elected officials from the Hudson Valley attended the formal dedication in Poughkeepsie of the Aerotecture Urban Wind Turbine being developed by AeroCIty LLC, a client of our member Hudson Valley Center for Innovation.

Photos at left and right show a few of the guests in attendance, including Rep. John Hall (19th Congressional District); keynote speaker Assemblyman Kevin Cahill (101st Assembly District and chairman of the Assembly Energy Committee); and Sarah Osgood of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority giving AeroCity President Bill Jacoby the good news of a $1 million competitive NYSERDA award.

Click the headline or the "read more" link for access to the rest of this item, including an embedded video showing the installation several weeks ago. The design for the Aerotecture Urban Wind Turbine, an innovative low-noise device suitable for operation in residential neighborhoods relatively low to the ground, is licensed by AeroCity from Chicago inventor WIlliam Becker and has been improved and positioned for mass manufacture in Kingston with the assistance of HVCFI "executive mentors."
