NBIA recognizes HTR’s entrepreneur-in-residence program as an incubation industry best practice

The "entrepreneur in residence" (EIR) program based at our member High Tech Rochester's Lennox Tech Enterprise Center was one of three such programs recognized as an incubation-industry best practice at the international conference of the National Business Incubation Association, held in May in Orlando.

Since the EIR program was started at HTR in 2002, experienced, resident entrepreneurs have assisted dozens of local startups — both incubator tenants and not — through coaching, mentoring, and in some cases serving as full-time CEOs. Examples cited by HTR (please see this link or the attached news release) include New Scale Technologies, Adarza BioSystems, Diffinity Genomics, and SiMPore.

The program is also now recognized in the second edition of an NBIA publication entitled Best Practices in Action: Guidelines for Implementing First-Class Business Incubation Programs (NBIA bookstore Catalog Number 428). The BIA/NYS is a proud member of the NBIA.
