Rochester paper highlights impact of regional imaging cluster on startup development

A recent story in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle highlights Real-View 3D, an early-stage startup at our supporting member High Tech Rochester/Lennox Tech Enterprise Center.

The story is an excellent illustration of a regional innovation cluster: entrepreneur Jonathan Howard, a Silicon Valley native, came to Rochester five years ago based on its reputation and heritage in imaging. He operates a medical-imaging firm, Quantum Medical Technology, in a nearby tech park, and now also takes a small space in the Lennox TEC to develop Real-View 3D's desktop scanner. To top off the clustering effect, Real-View 3D is now partnering with another regional imaging firm, personal-display developer Vuzix Corp., to exhibit at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
