Opinion column by Bob Herz highlights small-business tenants at the SSIC that are expanding both in Syracuse and across upstate

When big companies are laying off, even very small companies are often creating jobs and opening new offices, writes Bob Herz, director of our member the South Side Innovation Center, in an opinion column published in the blog of the Syracuse Post-Standard. For Bob's column, click the preceding link.

In his piece, Bob highlights East Environmental Group, which grew from a one-person operation into one that acquired two more businesses, hired five more people, and opened a second office in Binghamton. He also notes Blue Tree Studios, which has opened a second office, as well as several other success stores including Excel Martial Arts Training Center and Promise Me Chocolate.
