University at Buffalo discusses its role in growth of Medical Acoustics, tenant at BNMC Innovation Center

In an interesting news release, the University at Buffalo highlights the ways in which Medical Acoustics, a biomedical device tenant at our member the Innovation Center at the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, was helped on its way to commercial sales through partnerships with UB. The company now has 12 employees, four at the Innovation Center.

According to the news release, the company’s first business plan was written in collaboration with the UB Office of Science, Technology Transfer and Economic Outreach — the same unit that operates our supporting member the UB Technology Incubator and will open a new Downtown Biomedical Incubator at a clinical/translational research center under construction elsewhere on the BNMC campus.

The company also applied for federal grants in partnership with the UB Center for Advanced Biomedical and Bioengineering Technology and the associated state Center of Excellence that are R&D anchors of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
