$8m in state funding secured for new home for FLCC viticulture program at the The Technology Farm in Geneva

Our member the Cornell Agriculture and Food Technology Park (The Technology Farm) announced that $8 million in state funding has been secured to help construct a new, state-of-the-art center at The Technology Farm for the Viticulture Program of Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC).

The funding was announced by state Senator Michael Nozzolio, in conjunction with Gov. Cuomo and Assemblyman Brian Kolb. For more information, see the latest newsletter for The Technology Farm or embedded video from Sen. Nozzolio after the break.

This associate’s degree program fits extremely well with the grape genetics research at Cornell’s NYS Agricultural Experiment Station and its partners in the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS), currently across the road from the Technology Farm. Long-term plans call for a new ARS facility in the park.
