Academic Software Plus graduates 30 jobs from UB Technology Incubator to commercial space in Amherst

Academic Software Plus, a spinoff company formed in 1993 to streamline admissions to University at Buffalo’s dental school, will graduate 30 jobs from the UB Technology Incubator to nearby commercial space in Amherst, according to a university news release.

Since its establishment, the firm has expanded to serve many graduate and health-professions schools, and was acquired in 2001 by Liaison International, which itself is owned by the Warburg Pincus private equity firm.

The UB news release includes excellent insight into how the firm used various aspects of the university’s incubator program to guide its growth and development, and why the jobs will remain in Western New York although Liaison is Massachusetts-based.
