Quantum Loop Solutions, which builds software systems for small wineries, is the newest tenant of The Technology Farm, also known as the Cornell Agriculture and Food Technology Park. An affiliate of the incubator program at the Lennox Tech Enterprise Center of High Tech Rochester, the company won third place in the 2012 Rochester Regional Buiness Plan Competition.
Company founder Sam Weiner explains he moved from the Rochester area to the Technology Farm in Geneva in order to be near the center of the Finger Lakes wine industry. The City of Geneva and the Technology Farm are rapidly emerging as a center of technical support for this sector. The Tech Farm is building a new facility to house the Viticulture Program of Finger Lakes Community College and plans one day also to host the USDA/ARS Grape Genetics Research Unit currently based across the road, at Cornell’s New York State Agricultural Experiment Station.
